Claudia Alonso is a Manchester-based artist and photographer whose work centres on people, place, and the relationships that sustain everyday life. Using both film and digital photography, she develops projects through long-term involvement with communities, creating portraits and documentary images that emerge from trust rather than observation at a distance.
Her practice is driven by an interest in how shared spaces — from studios to community organisations — foster belonging, resilience, and collective identity. Alongside her artistic work, she supports photographic teaching and production at the University of Salford.
Her current project explores the community surrounding Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club, documenting how sport, mentorship, and mutual care shape the lives of young people in Manchester.
